I despise when a company advertises a service but don’t live up to it. And Walmart is one of those. I despise Walmart, not the corporation as I do shop on it but mostly online I despise the stores.

They are cluttered, crowded, lack customer service and as of late it feels more like entering a penitentiary than a place of business. So for that reason, I avoid them like the plague.

But I saw Mario Kart go on sale today at Amazon, Best Buy, and Walmart, so stupid me rationalizing that I wanted it today and my local Walmart is the closest I decided to buy it from them with Same Day pick up.

This was at 11 am. Almost eight hours later and just about an hour shy of the same day availability I still had no game. Status kept saying "Not Ready Yet". So I head to the store to find a monumental line on the pick-up section. Since I am not standing there just to see if the order is ready. I head to the electronics section and find the game locked and at regular price. Ok, I will just have it price match the online price. Well, that would work if there were someone around but of course not is Walmart after all.

I left and in the parking lot, I canceled the order and order it from Best Buy for pick up expecting on getting it the next day.

Nop from order placed to order ready to pick up to actually picking it up all took less than 30 minutes.

In summary, Walmart Same Day pick-up just as the in-store shopping is just not worth it. Stick to Target and Best Buy if you can’t wait for Amazon.

Lesson learned.
