A Culture Of Mediocrity

If you prest attention to any amount of business news you have probably seen the constant reporting about how company x or y is bad by demanding too much from its employees.

Some examples lately are about how Apple is bad by asking that employees return to work in person. How Amazon is bad because it expects its contracted delivery drivers to deliver on time. And so many other cases in every industry.

We see employees complaining we see investors complaining we even see customers complaining. Apparently is bad if a company wants to offer a better product, better service, or a better experience and demand that its employee deliver the quality promised.

Why can’t a company expect the best from its employees? And why do so many people side with mediocre employees? The company should lower its standards if an employee isn’t a fit it should be let go and that spot filled with someone that can deliver.

If we keep supporting mediocrity instead of getting a same day or two days delivery we will get another USPS or FEDEX Ground. Two of the most mediocre companies around.

Walmart Same Day Pick Up Is As Bad As Shopping In-Store #walmart

I despise when a company advertises a service but don’t live up to it. And Walmart is one of those. I despise Walmart, not the corporation as I do shop on it but mostly online I despise the stores.

They are cluttered, crowded, lack customer service and as of late it feels more like entering a penitentiary than a place of business. So for that reason, I avoid them like the plague.

But I saw Mario Kart go on sale today at Amazon, Best Buy, and Walmart, so stupid me rationalizing that I wanted it today and my local Walmart is the closest I decided to buy it from them with Same Day pick up.

This was at 11 am. Almost eight hours later and just about an hour shy of the same day availability I still had no game. Status kept saying "Not Ready Yet". So I head to the store to find a monumental line on the pick-up section. Since I am not standing there just to see if the order is ready. I head to the electronics section and find the game locked and at regular price. Ok, I will just have it price match the online price. Well, that would work if there were someone around but of course not is Walmart after all.

I left and in the parking lot, I canceled the order and order it from Best Buy for pick up expecting on getting it the next day.

Nop from order placed to order ready to pick up to actually picking it up all took less than 30 minutes.

In summary, Walmart Same Day pick-up just as the in-store shopping is just not worth it. Stick to Target and Best Buy if you can’t wait for Amazon.

Lesson learned.

I am not afraid of a North Korea Nuclear Strike Against US But

My Thought On The Current North Korea Crisis

The N.K Strike Fear

If you ask anyone what they think about this current back and forth between the two unqualified and irrational “leaders” they will tell you they are afraid of a North Korea nuclear strike against the US.

And according to a recent poll, 82% of Americans share this fear.

But I don’t

I really doubt North Korea can launch a successful nuclear attack against us. They may launch who knows but I doubt it will reach us and cause serious damage. It will be an unprecedented event for us but I doubt it will happen.

The Real Fear

But what really scares me is the potential millions that could die in Asia. Millions in South Korea, Japan, and North Korea are the one in real danger of losing their lives. Yes, I include North Koreans because no matter what the extremist tell you they are also human beings and ones that have suffered a lot already by their own government hands.

If we launch a pre-emptive nuclear strike against them not only we will lose the moral ground against the proliferation of nuclear weapons but we will commit an atrocity against innocent civilians once again.

South Korea and Japan are not only in danger because of nuclear weapons but they are both easy targets for North Korea's conventional weapons and the loss of life from those weapons will be in the thousands if not hundred of thousands.

When the warmongers ask for war and pound their chest claiming we are invincible and a hyper power they seem to forget about the damage that such war will cause on millions of people a large portion of them our allies.

I just hope that rational people behind both of this maniacs can restrain them.
