Apple Next External Display Just Need To Have This Things

Looking for current more affordable monitors that will work great with your Macbook Pro? Scroll to the bottom for our top picks

Since Apple announced the 32” Pro Display XDR in the Summer of 2019 I have been trying to justify it for myself. But at $6000 is has been a hard pull.

This monitor is beautiful and comes with amazing specs like:

  • 32” 6K Retina
  • Mini Led
  • 1 Thunderbolt 3 and 3 USB C ports
  • 1000 nits sustained brightness and 1600 nits peak brightness
  • XDR
  • 1,000,000 to 1 contrast ratio
  • 10-bit color depth
  • P3 color gamut

All in an eye-pleasing aluminum unibody that looks good on any workspace. But like I said before $6000 with a stand is a bit steep for most.

Apple 2022 Display

Apple is rumored to be working on at least 3 new monitors for a possible 2022 release of which we at least should see one.

And this is what it will need to have for me to pull the trigger on it.

After Apple released the new M1 Pro and M1 Max Macbook Pro’s this past fall with amazing displays featuring many of the technology in the now almost 3 years old Pro Display XDR and even some new additions like Pro Motion I can see a lot of this also coming to an external more affordable display.

What do I want to see?

  • A minimum of 30” and preferably 32”
  • Pro Motion
  • 5k XDR Retina display with 1000 nits sustained and a minimum of 218 PPI
  • 10 Bit Color and DCI-P3
  • Mini Led
  • 2 Thunderbolt ports or at least 1 Thunderbolt and 1 USB C
  • Built-in speakers will be nice but not a deal-breaker
  • Included stand and VESA mount option
  • And the most important part is a more affordable price

So how much I am willing to pay for an external Apple display with at least these specs?

For a 32” I am fine at $2.299 For 30” $1,899 And while I will like at least 30” if I considered a 27” I will be willing to pay at most $1,499

I am looking forward to the first Apple event in the spring to see if any of this materialize.
