A new study by Slice Intelligence an analytical firm estimates that Apple managed to secure almost a million Apple Watch pre-orders on day one.

Slice Intelligence analyzes participating users online order receipts & in the Apple Watch case they had data on over 9000 orders. That data showed that the Sport model was the top selling one.

Other nice bits of information are that the 42mm sold better than the 38mm and the Space Gray was the number one choice.

If this number holds and in fact Apple managed to secure up to 1 million units on the United States alone it shows that the Apple Watch may be to a good start. The only thing that may be holding back even more sales it’s the long waiting time stretching all the way trough June.
